The bike that started it all. This is Syd's 1970 TR6C, aka the 'popsycle'. Purchased in the mid 70's, it has gone through many upgrades and modifications since. When bought, the tank was orange in color, and it was repainted with black Imeron in the late 80's. This bike sports Ceriani front forks and a Boranni front wheel, with a disk brake from a Honda 750. Out back it has the stock wheel with Koni shocks. It has been upgraded with an alloy oil tank, TT pipes, a Mity Max black box to replace the Lucas electrics, and a trick oil filter adaptor that was machined by our good friend Steve Saling at Pulsar Engineering down in Gilroy. It uses a Chevy V8 filter that can be found just about anywhere.

The 650cc engine has also received some tweaks over the years, including nitrided valves and new valve guides that enable it to run on unleaded gas, an oil pressure gauge, and Barnett clutch plates. It has the single carb head, using the stock Amal.

The bike has been set up for reliable motoring, and has proven itself many times on long road trips. It's usually a great conversation starter too.
